Sensitive high value goods like pharmaceuticals need special care during transportation to avoid risks. A new supply chain risk management concept was developed to assess and manage risks in pharmaceutical supply chains. The approach involves mapping out the capabilities and risks of all participants in the supply chain to calculate a risk score. By using the SCOR model, each step of the supply chain is analyzed to determine the overall risk of a planned shipment. This method helps in evaluating and reducing risks for vulnerable high value goods throughout the supply chain.
