Human activity in the Yangtze Estuary over the last 20 years has caused significant changes to the ecosystem. Projects like building bridges and reclaiming land have altered the estuary's natural features, leading to silt accumulation and environmental damage. This study aims to understand how these activities have impacted the estuary's morphology. The researchers focused on the North Passage of the Yangtze Estuary and found a high level of siltation. The results will help managers develop better plans to protect the estuary.
