Land-use changes and vegetation growth key to reducing soil erosion.
Soil erosion can harm land and reduce fertility, but understanding how factors like rainfall, soil, and land use affect erosion can help prevent it. A study in the Yili region used different models to analyze soil erosion from 1990 to 2015. They found that topography plays the biggest role in erosion, followed by land use, rainfall, and soil changes. The study showed that improving vegetation cover and managing erosion can reduce soil erosion. By reclaiming desert grasslands and improving soil quality, erosion in the Yili region can be reduced. This research helps us understand how different factors interact to influence soil erosion and how we can prevent it.
