Chillers Optimized to Slash Energy Costs, Boost Cooling Efficiency
The researchers found a new way to calculate the efficiency of water-cooled chillers without needing to know the exact cooling water temperature. By using a model based on outside air properties, they can determine the Coefficient of Performance of the chiller. This method also allows for calculating the combined efficiency of multiple chillers without needing to know the specific cooling water temperatures for each chiller. This can help in planning energy consumption more accurately when using multiple chillers.
