New energy-baseline method slashes industrial carbon emissions, revolutionizing cleaner manufacturing.
This study aims to reduce energy use and carbon emissions in industries by establishing energy baselines. By analyzing the energy consumption of different products made from the same raw material, the researchers found ways to improve overall efficiency. They focused on the plastic injection process and created an energy baseline (EBL) following ISO 50001 standards. This EBL acts as a reference point for identifying energy savings, helping industries like plastics manufacturing in Colombia cut down on energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
