Straw mulch boosts maize yield and efficiency, revolutionizing farming practices.
The study looked at how using straw mulch and managing nitrogen affected the yield and efficiency of maize crops. Different amounts of nitrogen and straw mulch were tested in the experiment. The results showed that adding straw mulch improved soil properties and increased nutrient availability for the plants. Maize plants grown with straw mulch had better growth, higher yields, and absorbed more nutrients compared to those without mulch. Using 125 kg of nitrogen per hectare along with 10 tons of straw mulch per hectare was found to be the most beneficial treatment with the highest benefit-to-cost ratio.
