New Study Reveals Key Factors to Reduce Wax Buildup in Crude Oil.
The study aimed to figure out how to reduce wax buildup in Malaysian crude oil. Researchers tested different factors like rotation speed, temperature, duration, and wax inhibitors. They found that using EVA as an inhibitor, with specific conditions of 2 hours duration, 600 rpm rotation speed, and 15°C temperature, resulted in the least wax deposition. The main factor affecting wax buildup was temperature, but the interaction between rotation speed and the type of inhibitor had the biggest impact on reducing wax. The model they created explained 82.21% of the variability in wax deposition. In conclusion, controlling temperature and the interaction between rotation speed and inhibitor type is crucial for minimizing wax buildup.
