The article discusses how the water industry is moving towards digital asset management, but faces challenges in gathering and maintaining up-to-date asset information. The researchers explored using Building Information Modelling (BIM) to integrate digital data for the entire lifecycle of water facilities. Workshops with industry professionals showed that visualizing information is crucial for effective asset management. The study identified barriers to implementing digital techniques for efficient asset management in the water sector.
