Teacher immediacy, which involves communication behaviors that connect teachers and students, is crucial for effective learning. However, it is often overlooked in English language teacher training programs. This article discusses the importance of teacher immediacy and presents two successful training methods to enhance it. These methods have been used in a teacher training program in Hawaii and have shown positive results in improving teacher-student communication.
