Adaptive building facades could slash energy costs by up to 29%
Adaptive façades can significantly reduce energy consumption in buildings by adjusting to changing weather conditions. A new method using a computer program and optimization technique was developed to design these adaptive systems. By testing the method on different types of office buildings, it was found that adaptive façades can cut energy use by around 15-30% compared to traditional static façades. This shows that adaptive façades have great potential to make buildings more energy efficient.
