Assurance Region and Slacks-Based-Measurement Models Outperform CCR in Efficiency Estimates
The article compares different Data Envelopment Analysis models to see which one gives the most accurate efficiency estimates in certain scenarios. By creating artificial data and using different models, the researchers found that the Assurance Region and Slacks-Based-Measurement models are more accurate than the commonly used CCR model in scenarios with constant returns to scale. This suggests that the CCR model should be used less in DEA applications.
