Iraq Faces Uncertain Water Future as Rainfall Projections Show Potential Declines
The researchers used computer models to predict how much rain will fall in Baghdad, Iraq in the future. They looked at different scenarios of how much greenhouse gases will be in the atmosphere. The models showed that rainfall in Baghdad could decrease by up to 6.2% by the end of this century. They used advanced statistical methods to make these predictions, and one method called Support Vector Machine was very accurate in simulating past rainfall in the region.
