Heavy industry regions in China emit 1/6 of nation's CO2, but can reduce emissions through strategic sector development.
This study looks at how to cut carbon emissions from industry in China's northeast provinces. These regions use lots of energy and produce a lot of CO2. They're focusing on how different sectors are linked and which ones need more attention for reducing emissions. The northeast provinces have a way to go in terms of energy use and CO2 emissions compared to other places in China. They need to work on their energy mix and think about which industrial areas to boost and which to limit. These findings can help leaders plan to decrease carbon emissions in heavy industrial regions.
