New Catalyst Promises Near-Perfect NOx Emission Reduction for Cleaner Air
Researchers synthesized a zeolite called Cu-SSZ-13 using a specific chemical. They tested this zeolite as a catalyst for reducing harmful NOx emissions. The Cu-SSZ-13 showed excellent performance in converting NOx into harmless substances, reaching nearly 100% conversion at 250°C. This zeolite is easy to make and remains stable even under harsh conditions, making it a promising catalyst for reducing pollution from vehicles and industrial sources.
