The article discusses how to turn trash into energy by making Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) from municipal waste. The researchers studied waste from Qazvin city and found that RDF made from paper, cardboard, plastics, PET, textiles, and wood has a heating value similar to coal. By removing food waste, the heating value of RDF can increase by 110%. This method could help reduce pollution from burning fossil fuels in industries like cement production.
