New high-yielding sorghum variety set to transform agriculture in Ethiopia!
The researchers studied different types of sorghum plants in dry areas of Northeast Ethiopia to find which ones grow best. They found that one type of sorghum, called G2, is the most suitable for this region because it produces a lot of grain, grows well, and matures early. This type of sorghum was officially approved for farmers to use in 2017. It is recommended to produce a lot of seeds for this type of sorghum, spread it to more areas, and encourage farmers to use it.
