Innovative building design slashes energy costs, boosts sustainability in Jakarta
The goal of the study was to reduce the amount of sunlight hitting the outside of an office building in Jakarta to lower the need for air conditioning. The researchers used a parametric design approach to analyze different shapes and materials for the building facade. They found that by adding a secondary skin to the building, they could reduce the amount of sunlight by 25%, helping to decrease the building's cooling load.
