China's New Air Quality Index Reveals Alarming Pollution Levels Nationwide
Air pollution in China is a serious problem affecting public health. To better understand air quality, a new index called Total Air Quality Index (TAQI) has been introduced. This index considers all pollutants, not just the main ones, and their impact on air quality. Another index, Contribution Rate (IAQIP/TAQI), shows how much each pollutant contributes to overall air quality. By analyzing data from 31 cities over four years, researchers found that these new indexes can help improve air quality evaluation and create healthier indoor environments.
