Turning Livestock Waste into Energy: Chicken Manure Beats Cow for Biogas
Livestock waste from cows and chickens in Sumenep dungkek area of Madura Island was used to produce biogas. The study found that a mixture of 50% chicken and 50% cow manure produced the highest biogas volume and methane gas. This shows that biogas from chicken manure is better than cow manure, but a combination of both types of manure was used for the study. The researchers used a completely randomized design method to determine the best composition of the mixture for biogas production. The results will help in creating biogas reactors for home use.
