EU Member States Divided into Trade Groups Based on Agricultural Foreign Trade.
The European Union manages foreign trade in agricultural goods with many countries worldwide. A study analyzed trade data of EU member states and found that countries with significant agricultural production also export food commodities in larger quantities. Countries with major exports outside the EU also have larger imports of both basic and prepared food. The analysis grouped member states into categories like non-trade countries, agri-food exporters, and importers, and primary commodity exporters. The date of EU accession and agricultural subsidies do not affect agricultural foreign trade.
