Early sowing and phosphorus boost faba bean yield and protein content.
The researchers studied how planting date and phosphorus fertilizer affect the growth, yield, and quality of faba beans. They found that planting early in November with high phosphorus fertilizer resulted in the tallest plants, most branches, highest seed yield, and protein content. Late planting in December with no fertilizer led to lower yields and protein content. The best combination for high yield and protein content was planting in November with high phosphorus fertilizer.
