Wetland conservation in China has improved with the establishment of protected areas and a grading system. However, there are still challenges such as overlapping management functions and a lack of uniform regulations. To address these issues, a unified legal system and wetland identity cards are recommended, along with stronger law enforcement. Better coordination among different protection systems is also needed to enhance wetland conservation efforts in China.
