The article looks at how cities and towns in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) have changed from 1988 to 2018. They used data from official sources to see how urban areas have grown or shrunk over time. The research shows that urbanization in the region has slowed down in the past 30 years. Many smaller towns have become rural areas, and most cities have lost people except for Yakutsk. The capital and a few big cities have the most urban population in the republic.
