Dianchi Lake's water quality targets set to improve lives of millions
The researchers studied water quality in Dianchi Lake and its surrounding rivers to set better pollution control goals. They used computer models and data to figure out the right pollution levels in the rivers so that the lake's water could meet quality standards. By doing this, they identified main pollution sources in the area and suggested practical targets for cleaning up the water. For Dianchi Lake to have decent water quality, they found that levels of COD should stay below 30 mg/L, TN below 7 mg/L, TP below 0.2 mg/L, and NH3-N below 2 mg/L. Their strategy could help improve water quality in lakes affected by river pollution.
