The researchers used a model called RUSLE along with GIS to study soil erosion and sediment yield in the Pra River Basin in Ghana. They found that in 2008, the soil erosion and sediment yield were low due to vegetation cover and gentle landscape. However, if land degradation activities like small-scale mining continue, the erosion could become severe.
