Unsafe Drinking Water Alert: Southeastern Nigeria River Deemed Unfit for Consumption
The researchers studied the water quality of Ikwu River in Southeastern Nigeria to see if it is safe to drink. They looked at 13 different factors like temperature, pH, and oxygen levels. Most factors were okay, but oxygen and pH were not good. Station 2 was the main source of the problem. Stations 1 and 3 had poor water quality, while station 2 had very poor quality. The river is not safe for drinking because of low oxygen and pH levels.
