Renewable energy adoption soars as botanical garden members go green
The scientists looked at why some members of a plant garden choose renewable energy. They surveyed people after the garden began encouraging visitors to switch to renewable energy by offering a free year of membership. They wanted to find out what makes people already using green energy and what makes others switch to it on the spot. The study found that those who were politically liberal were already using green energy. Meanwhile, younger people and those who had a good experience with the renewable energy provider at the garden were more likely to switch to renewable energy while visiting the garden.
