Intercropping maize with winter vegetables boosts yields and profits significantly.
A study was done in Bangladesh to see how growing maize with different winter vegetables affects crop yield. They tested four combinations: maize with spinach, red amaranth, coriander, and maize alone. The results showed that intercropping maize with spinach gave the highest yield and profit compared to growing maize alone. Maize with coriander also performed well, while maize with red amaranth had the lowest yield. Intercropping maize with vegetables can increase overall yield and profit compared to growing maize alone.
