Low phosphorus stress impacts rice nutrient absorption and yield potential.
The study looked at how low phosphorus stress affects the amount of nitrogen and potassium absorbed by different types of rice plants. They found that low-P sensitive rice plants had more changes in nitrogen and potassium levels compared to low-P tolerant rice plants. At the booting stage, all rice plants had increased potassium levels under low phosphorus stress. However, nitrogen levels varied among different rice genotypes. Overall, P-tolerance rice plants accumulated more nitrogen and potassium in the early growth stages compared to P-sensitive rice plants.
