New software quality models revolutionize assessment of digital products.
Software quality models have evolved since the 1970s, but many only focus on specific aspects of quality. This paper identifies 23 comprehensive models developed since 2000 and evaluates their relevance using various indicators. The models vary in publication intensity, quality score, and relevance to the scientific and industrial communities. The findings help in selecting the right model for assessing software quality or expanding it to include new quality properties. Additionally, the concepts from software quality modeling have been successfully applied to other areas like education and business processes.
