Untapped Treasure: China Discovers Vast Reserves of Clean-Burning Coal Gas
Coal measure gas in the Upper Permian Longtan Formation in Western Guizhou Province, China has been studied to identify high-quality resources. The area has thick coal seams with good gas-bearing properties, leading to stable industrial gas flow. By focusing on specific coal seams and using methods like hydraulic fracturing and staged perforation, researchers achieved a daily gas output of over 4000 m3. This breakthrough in coal measure gas exploration in Southwest China highlights the potential for maximizing resource utilization and improving oil and gas exploration techniques.
