The researchers studied how different irrigation methods and fertilizers affect the growth and yield of a hybrid rice cultivar. They found that continuous flooding and irrigation every 3 days after water disappearance led to higher grain yield and better plant growth. Using 75% of the recommended NPK fertilizer, along with rice straw compost, resulted in the best grain yield and water productivity. This method also reduced the need for chemical fertilizers by 25% without decreasing the rice yield. Overall, applying the right combination of fertilizers and irrigation can help increase rice production while conserving water and reducing chemical inputs.
