New herbicides boost chickpea yields, revolutionizing weed management in agriculture.
A study was done to test different ways to control weeds in chickpea fields. The researchers tried twelve methods and found that manual weeding and interculturing gave the best results for seed and plant yields. Using certain herbicides before and after the plants emerged also worked well. These treatments led to taller plants, more branches and pods, and heavier seeds. However, the weight of the seeds was not affected by the weed control methods.
