Optimizing nitrogen fertilizer application boosts winter wheat yield and quality.
The goal was to improve the yield and quality of winter wheat grain by optimizing nitrogen fertilizer application. By applying nitrogen fertilizers in the spring instead of before plowing, the yield of winter wheat significantly increased. The most effective method was applying nitrogen three times in the spring at a specific dose. Foliar feeding with micronutrients also increased yield without affecting grain quality. The best results were achieved by applying nitrogen at different stages of plant growth, resulting in higher grain yield and quality compared to no fertilizer use.
