Population growth fuels British industry boom in the 19th century.
Population in Britain grew rapidly from 14 million in 1830 to 37 million in 1914. This growth boosted British industry by providing more workers and customers. The increase in population was easier to track after the Registration Act in 1836. Birth rates went up until the 1870s, then started to decline. Death rates generally decreased, especially after the 1880s.
