Minimum tillage boosts soil health and crop yield in acidic rainfed areas.
The study looked at how different ways of tilling the soil affect its physical properties and nutrient levels in a rice farming area in Assam. They compared six different tillage methods and found that minimum tillage had the most nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and sulfur. The soil was healthiest and had the most organic carbon with minimum tillage, while traditional farming practices had the least. Minimum tillage also improved the soil's structure, making it better at holding water and nutrients. Overall, using minimum tillage can make the soil healthier and help crops grow better.
