The article discusses different features found in sediment, called sedimentary structures. These structures can be either primary (formed during or right after deposition) or secondary (formed later). There are inorganic and organic primary structures. The researchers suggest two ways to study sedimentary structures: pretending an outcrop is a borehole and creating a two-dimensional survey of the outcrop.
