Invasive bluespotted cornetfish booming in the Mediterranean Sea off Lebanon.
The bluespotted cornetfish has become a big population in the Mediterranean Sea, especially off the coast of Lebanon. Researchers studied 1073 fish from 2005 to 2009 and found that they can grow up to 113.1 cm long. The fish mostly measured around 55 cm long. They also discovered that the fish grow in a certain way, with their weight increasing faster than their length. The number of male and female fish was about the same. This information gives us a good idea of the population of bluespotted cornetfish in the eastern Mediterranean and can help us learn more about how they live in their new environment.
