A new type of distribution called the Poisson transmuted-G family has been created by adding two extra parameters to the G distribution. The researchers found various mathematical properties of this new family, such as moments generating function and order statistics. They also discussed how to estimate the parameters using maximum likelihood method. The new family was shown to be useful in fitting data, as demonstrated in two applications involving failure time data sets.
