Energy consumption and population density drive environmental degradation in Lebanon.
The study looked at how energy use, financial development, economic growth, population density, and education affect environmental damage in Lebanon from 1974 to 2014. They found that higher energy use, financial development, and population density are linked to more environmental damage. Economic growth also contributes, but not as much. On the other hand, more secondary school education is connected to less environmental damage. To reduce harm to the environment, Lebanon should focus on using energy more efficiently and improving education levels.
