The article discusses the history and patterns of studying reptile thermobiology in the USSR/Russia. The first studies in this field were published in the early 1930s, about 100 years later than in other countries. These early publications reflected the influence of the Russian biological school and made a significant but still underappreciated contribution to reptile thermobiology and biological science. The research from the USSR/Russia in the 1930s-1940s laid the foundation for further exploration in this area.
