The study developed a method to track changes in household electricity use and CO2 emissions. They analyzed data from a smart metering project in Latvia to reduce electricity consumption by 10%. The method involved analyzing current electricity use, adjusting for different factors, and using regression analysis to predict changes. After nine months, the project showed promising results in reducing electricity use. The study also suggested ways to encourage more households to use smart meters for energy efficiency.
