Small and medium-sized businesses in Malaysia are important for the economy, but their performance can be inconsistent. To improve this, the government has been focusing on innovation. A study with 155 SMEs found that innovation has a positive impact on their business performance. This means that coming up with new ideas and ways of doing things can help SMEs succeed.
