Ultrafiltration Membrane Technology Achieves Near-Perfect Water Treatment Results.
Researchers compared two different processes for treating water from Dalangdian Reservoir using ultrafiltration membranes. Both processes removed 99% of turbidity and almost all microorganisms and algae. The process with sedimentation before ultrafiltration had slightly better organic removal. Using membranes saved coagulant and effectively removed aluminum ions during high algae periods. Backwashing and regular cleaning maintained membrane performance.
