Water-fertilizer integration boosts wheat yield and saves water efficiently.
A study on winter wheat growth found that using micro spraying irrigation and water-fertilizer integration led to higher water use efficiency and grain yield compared to traditional methods. The approach involved testing different nitrogen levels and irrigation-fertilization techniques over two growing seasons. Results showed that the integrated method increased photosynthesis, reduced soil evaporation, and improved dry matter accumulation in wheat plants. The optimal treatment for saving water and fertilizer was found to be micro spraying irrigation and water-fertilizer integration at a nitrogen level of 210 kg·hm-2.
