The world's marine fisheries are facing a crisis due to overfishing and too many fishing boats. Despite efforts to manage the problem, many fisheries are still struggling. New methods like individual or community catch quotas are needed to fix the issue. Uncertainty about marine systems may also be causing overfishing. Decision analysis and Bayesian inference suggest that creating marine reserves and controlling catch quotas could help protect fisheries. This research provides valuable insights for environmental scientists, economists, and fisheries managers.
