The study looked at how phosphorus moves through soil on a sloping red soil land during rainfall. They tested three different land treatments: grass cover, litter mulch, and bare land. They found that phosphorus mainly moves through surface runoff, with bare land losing the most phosphorus. Surface runoff was the main way phosphorus was lost from the soil.
