Revolutionary Wetlands Cleanse Sewage, Saving Energy and Costs
Researchers studied how wetlands planted with specific plants can clean up sewage in an eco-friendly way. They used two types of wetlands with different plants to treat sewage. Both setups effectively removed pollutants like TDS, BOD5, nitrogen, and phosphate from the sewage. The wetland with Canna indica was better at removing these pollutants compared to the one with Acorus calamus. The treatment worked well for 6 days, but after that, no more significant removal was seen. Wetlands can be a good, natural way to clean up sewage and protect the environment.
