Tianjin's Water Crisis Averted: Sustainable Model Balances Supply and Quality
A model was created to manage water resources in Tianjin city effectively. Using a computer program called STELLA, the model combines water quality and quantity to assess how well the city can use its water sustainably. By looking at factors such as the economy, population, water supply, and demand, the model helps predict future water scarcity issues. It was found that a development scenario with stable economic growth and environmental concerns can solve water supply problems and improve water quality. This suggests that considering both the economy and the environment is key to managing water resources well in Tianjin city. The study offers suggestions to address water resource challenges and improve how water is used in the city.
