Climate change in Iran: Rising temperatures, decreased rainfall predicted for future.
Climate change in the North West of Iran was studied using statistical downscaling models to predict future temperature and precipitation changes. The models showed that minimum temperatures will increase, especially in cold seasons, while maximum temperatures will rise in all seasons. Rainfall is expected to decrease by 10-40%, with the northern regions experiencing the most significant reductions. The study found that different models performed best for different climate parameters, with JEN neural network model for minimum temperature, MFN neural network model for maximum temperature, and SDSM model for precipitation showing the most accurate predictions.
